Zero Excess

Keeping unplanned costs to a minimum is more important than ever, so ALA Warranty never charges you any excess when making a claim. Other providers may require a compulsory excess payment, making car warranty repairs less affordable.

Age and Mileage

Age and mileage limits only apply at the start, when you’re purchasing extended car warranty. Unlike other providers, your coverage won’t end once you reach a certain age or mileage.

Please note that for Platinum policyholders, Wear & Tear coverage will end after the vehicle reaches 80,000 miles or eight years (whichever is reached first). We don’t cover timing belt tensioners over 80,000 miles on Gold & Silver policies.

Claim Limit

The maximum you can claim under your ALA car warranty depends on your warranty cover and vehicle value.

• Silver: claim up to £2,000 or £5,000
• Gold: claim up to £2,000 or Vehicle Value
• Platinum: claim up to £5,000 or Vehicle Value

If you have chosen vehicle value as the maximum claim total, this is limited to the market value of your vehicle at the time you purchased a policy (based on the Glass’s Guide).

Labour Rate Options

When you build your personalised Extended Warranty quote, you can choose your labour coverage to suit your budget. We offer either £60 or £100 per hour (including VAT).

Once you’re aware of a fault, contact the claims team on 01143 219877. Drop your vehicle at an approved repairer, provide your warranty policy details and the number for the claims team and they can take it from there. You’ll be back on the road in no time.

Additional Cover

Your car can break down at any time of day or night, complicating things if garages are closed. However, ALA includes* hotel costs, roadside assistance, rail fare coverage and replacement car hire – when you can’t get same-day repairs.

*ALA contributes £50 towards roadside rescue, car hire (per day) and £100 towards accommodation or rail fares. Ensure you read the policy wording so you’re clued up on our bonus coverage.

Continental Cover

Taking your car abroad is a convenient way to bring your home comforts on holiday. Luckily, your ALA Car Extended Warranty is still valid if you break down overseas. You’re covered for up to 60 days per year while travelling in the EU.

We’ll reimburse you for replacement parts and labour costs according to the UK equivalents.

No Pre-Inspection

There is so pre-inspection of your vehicle when buying our warranty. Unlike other online providers, our extended warranties are insurance-based. We’ll just ask a few simple questions about your car’s service history, then you’re good to go. Fortunately, everything can all be arranged online with no inspection necessary.
Please note that there is a 28 day waiting period before you can make a claim.

We offer trusted breakdown cover as an add-on for our car warranty. There are 4 levels of cover to choose from, different levels to suit you and your vehicle.

Transfer of Cover

Buying an extended warranty doesn’t mean you can’t sell your car. In fact, having an extended warranty in place can be useful – your car might be more appealing to prospective buyers. With ALA Warranty, you can transfer your policy cover to a new owner, free of charge.

You can take out a new extended warranty or continue using your new car’s manufacturer warranty.

Please note that the new owner will only be able to make a claim 28 days after the policy transfer.

The Financial and Legal Insurance Company Limited underwrites our extended warranties. As with all our underwriters, they are insured under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Diagnostics

Our zero excess as standard and diagnostics coverage* (for Platinum and Gold car warranty) means you could pay nothing towards an unexpected repair.

*ALA contribute up to £50 or one hour of labour (whichever is reached first) towards diagnosing your vehicle fault.

Wear and Tear

Determining whether a covered component failed due to an unforeseen fault or general wear and tear can be difficult. So we offer Platinum customers wear and tear cover. Platinum policyholders are covered until they reach 80,000 miles or 8 years.

Other providers often don’t cover components that reach the end of their effective working lives. ALA offers a more comprehensive solution for everyday driving.

Consequential Damage

Car systems are complex, meaning the failure of one part can have a knock-on effect. Most car warranty providers exclude consequential damage.

However, we’re committed to keeping your repair costs to a minimum, so we’ll repair non-cosmetic damage of a covered component directly resulting from failure of another named component.
