New cars have a three to five-year manufacturer’s warranty which covers the cost of repairs if your vehicle suddenly malfunctions. However, what happens once this cover ends or you bought a used EV outside of its original warranty? If you break down without extended warranty, you’ll have a significant repair bill.
Buying extended warranty gets you similar coverage to your manufacturer warranty after it runs out. Have peace of mind that if you break down unexpectedly, you’re not faced with an expensive repair. ALA Extended Warranty offers three levels of cover, Silver offers core coverage, Gold provides higher protection and Platinum offers the highest level of component cover. At competitive prices, ALA warranty for your EV could save you a considerable headache in the future.
While electric vehicles are far less likely to break down unexpectedly – they only account for around 3% of all roadside assistance call-outs. EVs can be costly to repair if something does go wrong. On average it costs around 25% more to repair an electric car than motors with an internal combustion engine. An electric car’s battery costs around £7,000 to replace. A replacement battery for a Tesla model would cost upwards of £8,1800.
EV extended warranty covers the cost of repairs after an unexpected mechanical or electrical fault which could save you hundreds and avoid significant cash flow problems.
Which EV Components Does ALA Warranty Cover?
Silver, Gold and Platinum warranties offer different levels of coverage so it’s crucial to read your policy terms to make sure your policy suits your needs. Generally, ALA extended Car Warranty covers the following systems, the individual component cover may vary from policy to policy:
Braking Mechanisms (excludes brake pads)
Electrical Systems, including the Control Module/ECU
Drivetrain including electric motor
Cooling/Heating Systems
Front and Rear-Wheel Drive
Steering and Suspension
Multimedia Units
EV Battery Coverage
Platinum Warranty coverage is the most comprehensive and includes the majority of mechanical/electrical parts and includes working materials but doesn’t cover the cost of consumables not used in the repair of a covered component. Consumables include, wiper blades, air filters, bulbs, brake fluid etc. Read the full list of covered components and exclusions in the policy wording .
Electric vehicles less than 8 years old or 80,000 miles are eligible for Platinum warranty. Don’t worry if you don’t fit these requirements, read about warranty coverage for Gold and Silver policies – they also cover electric vehicle components.

EV Warranty Exclusions To Be Aware Of Before Buying
No extended warranty provider covers every single vehicle component but ALA extended warranty includes the most crucial components which would otherwise be costly to repair or replace out of your own pocket.
PLEASE CHECK RELEVANT POLICY DOCUMENTS AND COVERAGE EXCLUSIONS BEFORE BUYING A PLAN.
Wear & Tear
Unless you have a Platinum policy, failure due to wear & tear isn’t covered by extended warranty. Replacement of brake pads isn’t covered by any policy because they are designed to wear away and should be routinely checked and replaced.
Electric Car Maintenance

WE RECOMMEND YOU SERVICE YOUR CAR AT LEAST YEARLY TO KEEP YOUR POLICY VALID
